When any of your company details change you must notify ASIC by lodgement of the appropriate form.
Most company changes must be notified within 28 days of the date of the change.
Why is it important to remain ASIC compliant?
To improve the quality of public information stored on ASIC's company register, ASIC developed and instigated a penalty regime which results in many fines being issued for non-compliance. For example, if you fail to notify ASIC of a change in the residential address of an officeholder or member within the prescribed time of 28 days from the date of change you will incur a fine. In addition, the penalty for this omission for officeholders is $1,100.00 and/or 3 months imprisonment!
Experience has shown us that the requirement of continuous disclosure coupled with the penalties ASIC can and does impose upon late lodgements and late payment has meant that those who take on the role of compliance must be diligent, organised and have in place a workplace system which ensures that omissions and errors are kept to a minimum.
